Music & the Arts
Choir
Love to sing but not exactly a soloist? Even if you cannot read music we welcome all who love to sing and worship together. The choir sings 2-3 times each month and is seen not as just a performance group but worship leaders in the house of God. What a great way to make friends and encourage one another. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the choir room. A commitment of a year is requested.
Praise Band
This small group of instrumentalists consisting of a drummer, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, piano and keyboard and/or organ, make up the core group with other instruments added at different times. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. Let us know if you are interested in playing on a rotational basis. A commitment of a year is requested.
Worship Vocalists
Helping in the worship every Sunday is a group of 2-3 singers on microphones who are comfortable in front of a crowd and with singing possible harmonies. To be a part of this group it is expected that you would also sing in the choir. A commitment of a year is requested.
Orchestra and Instrumental Ensembles
This larger group of instrumentalists plays for special holidays and events. Made up of brass, woodwinds, and strings, the orchestra enhances worship and gives it variety. Please let us know if you are interested in playing your instrument either as a part of the orchestra or a small instrumental ensemble.
Technical Arts
Operation of the sound, lighting, and projection system is crucial to the worship services at Faith Church. If you are comfortable with technical equipment and have an ear for music and sound, please share your gifts in this area.
Drama and other Performing Arts
With a long history of dramatic and musical presentations at Faith Church, we would like to rekindle the use of drama, dance, and other performing arts to be used either in Sunday morning worship or in a variety of other special productions.
Décor & Other Visual Arts
Are you a painter, sculptor, photographer, or seamstress? Are you able to help with set design or construction, or just have a flair for creating the right mood in a room? There is a place for you to use these talents. Let us know if you have a desire to express your love for the Lord in other artistic ways.
