The mission of the Women's Ministries is "to spiritually nurture women and act as a resource for connection." Women's Ministries hosts many on and off-site events including breakfasts, retreats, service projects, and conferences. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recipes from recent Women’s breakfast on 11/3/07: Oven baked egg cups Preheat oven to 350 degrees Lightly spray muffin tin with cooking spray. Place thin slice of Canadian bacon in each muffin cup. Drop medium sized egg into each Canadian bacon cup and bake approx. 15 minutes or until eggs are set. Season with salt, pepper and fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy! Another variation: after baking, place a dollop of hollandaise sauce on each egg, then garnish with parsley or paprika. Check cookbooks for “Scotch Eggs”, an English favorite! Overnight Cappuccino French Toast with Pecan pralines
Toast: 1 loaf French bread 8 eggs 2 cups half and half 1 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 T. sugar 1 ½ tsp. instant espresso powder ¼ tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg ¼ tsp. salt Praline Topping: 1 cup butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 2 T. light corn syrup ½ tsp. cinnamon ½ cup chopped pecans Toast: Coat 13x9 pan with cooking spray. Slice bread into 1 inch thick slices. Arrange in pan. Whisk eggs, half and half, vanilla, sugar, espresso powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in bowl. Pour over bread. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Next morning, heat oven to 400. Topping: In small saucepan, heat butter, sugar, syrup and cinnamon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth, 5-7 minutes. Add pecans. Remove from heat. Remove pan from refrigerator. Uncover; pour on topping. Bake in 400 oven 40 minutes or until heated through. |
