Urban Homeworks Workday
On Saturday November 10, 2007 we worked at a home in South Minneapolis. Take a look at the following photos from that day. We pulled out old carpet, painted and installed a laminate floor. This is a home we worked in about 7 years ago when we first started working with Urban Homeworks. We will be offering other opportunities to do this again. We expect to be going back in January or February. Just check this website or watch for other announcements.
Working with Urban Homeworks is a chance for you to do a missions project in our own back yard. Besides getting a good workout you will learn of the housing crisis in our urban area and get a better appreciation of the urban poor. No hard skills are required, you only need a willing heart to serve God and others.
The mission of Urban Homeworks is to perpetuate the hope of Jesus Christ through innovative community development that produces:
· dignified housing for low-income families,
· a strategic network of good neighbors, and
· redemptive development of real estate.
