INSIDE our church
Serving people INSIDE our congregation
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up . . .” (Ephesians 4:11-12)
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” (Romans 12:7)
All who follow Christ have been given special gifts to build up the church, which is the body of Christ. When we find ways to serve that match our gifts, our service will be energizing, will be a joy, and will be affirmed by those around us. If you aren’t active now or what you’re doing now isn’t a good fit, try something new. There can be different seasons in our lives for different kinds of service, so feel free to sample new ways of serving that may be a match for your gifts.
These are opportunities to serve the people of our congregation and our visitors. Click on a line to see a description of what is involved in that type of service and who you can contact for more information or to participate. Thank you for serving!

No meetings are involved. There is one Faith Church prayer chain and you can choose to participate either by e-mail or by telephone.
• If you choose to receive the prayer requests by e-mail, you are asked to pray immediately while at the computer. Many print out or make notes of the requests as reminders so they can continue to pray.
• Helen Lovingfoss receives the prayer requests by e-mail and begins the telephone prayer chain. If you choose to receive the prayer requests by telephone, you are asked to pray on your own and to pass the prayer requests on to another member of the chain by telephone.
The prayer chain is a wonderful opportunity for the Faith family to be united in prayer. More than 95 people currently participate in the e-mail part of the prayer chain and 10 in the telephone part.

“Prayer Fellowship” Participant—Marilyn Carlson & Helen LovingfossPrayer Fellowship meets Wednesday mornings 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Room 114 (across from the choir room). We hope you will join us as we pray together for the needs of others, our church, our country, and the world. We pray for the requests that have come through the church office and from the blue cards at Sunday worship. Make this prayer time a priority in your life! There is power when many people join together in prayer. God wants us to pray because we are His children and He loves us.

“Prayer for Faith” Participant—Nancy Coughlin
This group meets Sunday mornings to pray for God to be honored in Faith Church and for the Holy Spirit to be at work in and through our pastors, leaders, staff, congregation, visitors, worship services, ministries, programs—every aspect of our life together. Participants gather in room 114 (across from choir room) starting at 9:00 a.m. to greet one another. Prayer begins at 9:15 with an opening Scripture or devotional reading followed by spoken prayers of praise and thanksgiving. Then there is a time of silent confession and listening to God. We follow that with a time of spoken prayers of supplication. The group concludes at 9:45, so there is plenty of time to find your favorite place in the sanctuary. Praying together is excellent preparation for morning worship. If you don’t feel comfortable praying out loud in a group, come and pray silently. God doesn’t care how eloquent our words sound—he welcomes our fellowship and invites us to bring our needs to him. If you can’t come regularly or need to leave early, that’s fine. New participants are especially welcome.
