During our worship service on April 11, 2010, we were given an opportunity to learn how an individual, couple or family from our congregation can sponsor a child through Compassion International.

Many in our congregation already sponsor children through Compassion and other organizations, but as a result of the information presented during that worship service, people from our congregation chose to sponsor eleven additional children!

With Compassion International, each child has only one sponsor and that sponsor is personally linked to a child who needs your love, support, and prayers. Your support of $38 per month connects your child with a church-based child development program that provides educational assistance, health services, loving guidance from Christian adults, and training in important life skills. Most important of all, your sponsored child will hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God.

As a sponsor you will play a vital role in your child’s life. As you exchange letters, send photos and offer prayer and encouragement, you will bring hope to a child that will last a lifetime. As you pray and encourage your child, watch as he or she begins to grow in confidence, skills, and faith.
