Overview of Family Ministries Programs for Children and Youth

Family Ministries Registration Form, 2010-2011

Preschool:
We have wonderful facilities for preschoolers and excellent childcare providers. Childcare is offered during worship services as well as during Wednesday evening programming and most other church events.

On Friday, September 24, 2010 we will have a NEW Parent’s Night Out program from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., giving parents an opportunity to enjoy an evening out while their children, ages 8 months to Grade 3, enjoy special activities.

For our week of Vacation Bible School each summer, there is a special track for preschoolers age 4 and older.

During the school year (September through May), preschool children from 8 months to 5 years can be enrolled in the Parents Morning Out (PMO) program, which meets Wednesday mornings from 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. The day can be extended with the Lunch Bunch program for children from 2 1/2 – 5 years, which ends at 2:00 p.m.

The Summer Morning Out (SMO) program, for children from 8 months to 5 years meets on Wednesdays from mid-June through mid-August from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Children:
Beginning September 12, Sunday School will meet from 9:00-9:45 a.m. for children ages 3 through 5th grade. This time will include a  large group gathering followed by age specific small groups. While your child is in Sunday School you are welcome to participate in an adult class or volunteer in Family Ministries then worship together as a family at 10:00 a.m.

Faith Church’s Wednesday evening program for all ages includes AdQuest for children in Kindergarten through Grade 5. AdQuest meets from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and offers fun and learning in small group and large group settings. Our theme for the 2010-2011 is “Heroes, A Walk Through the Old Testament.” Come join us and bring a friend.

February is traditionally “Faith Loves Its Kids” month and includes presentation of a children’s musical with a biblical message at one of the worship services.

For one week during the summer we offer Vacation Bible School as a morning program. The opportunity to extend activities to a full day for older elementary children is offered through the “Further the Fun!” option. Look for more information in the Spring!

Although not a part of Faith Church programming, our church charters an American Heritage Girls group, a Christ-centered scouting program for girls ages 5 – 17 which meets in our building. Girls from our church are welcome to participate.

Middle School:
Faith Church’s Wednesday evening program for all ages includes Lighthouse for middle school students (grades 6 through 8). Lighthouse meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. during the school year. The night starts with a large group lesson, followed by small group breakout discussions and then joins with the high school students for worship and fellowship.

During the 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning education hour for all ages, students in 6th through 12th grade will meet in the teen lounge, where students will have a chance to grab a little breakfast and study issues relevant to the faith of the students.

In the spring, middle school students present a dinner theater with singing and a program written by the youth. Retreats and other special events are offered for middle school students throughout the year.

Although confirmation is not tied to a particular grade level, a confirmation class is offered each year for those who wish to participate.

Senior High:
Focus is the senior high program (for grades 9 through 12) that meets Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. during the school year. The students begin in large group then combine with Lighthouse for worship and games. Focus students will then break into small groups  for further discussion.

Retreats and other special events are also offered for senior high students throughout the year.

During the summer, senior high students can participate in a Senior High Mission Trip, which usually involves housing construction and repair or various types of other service projects in different parts of the country.
