“Amazing Grace Race” Children’s Musical…Jan 29

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fi our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)
This wonderful verse is the theme for this year’s children’s musical, “The Amazing Grace Race.” This musical is a story about a group of runners who are running the race of life. The spiritual growth and journey of a Christian are much like running a physical race. At times we run like the wind toward the prize set out for us. At other times we walk…even crawl in that direction. No matter the pace, God’s grace is more than enough to help us finish the race toward the goal set before us…life everlasting with our God. Through this musical, kids will learn several key things about this “race” we call life. Among them, that Christ is our example. We must run “IN HIS STEPS…in my shoes!” They will also learn that this race is all about “L-O-V-E, Love!” and that we are not competing against each other, but rather, we are running side by side. Along the way they will sing about forgiveness in a fun 50s tune called “A Better Way,” explore why being a “Couch Potato” doesn’t help the team and learn what a hero is in God’s eyes.
The musical is open to all children in Kindergarten through 5th grade and has parts for everyone. Kids will then perform “The Amazing Grace Race” during worship on Sunday, January 29.
Everyone is welcome to participate! This is a great opportunity to invite friends to be a part of something fun and meaningful here at Faith Church!
