HOPKINS IN MOTION —Sept 11, 2010

The second annual “Hopkins in Motion” event was held September 11 from 9 am – 2 pm. It was described as “a community-wide event full of energy and activities both fun and invigorating.” It “encourages participants to be active while having fun.” Of course we had our tent at the event so we could be a part of it. Thank you for stopping by to greet us and find out about some great opportunities that will let you and your family accomplish something worthwhile by working with us on some upcoming service projects. What could be better for “being active while having fun” than to work on a project to help someone in need?

HOPKINS RASPBERRY FESTIVAL FAMILY DAYS—July 17, 2010

We had a great time at out tent, meeting people from the community and inviting them to work on several service projects including Feed My Starving Children, Community Days of Service, ICA foodshelf, and more. We also distributed fans and featured quiz games about the organizations we serve. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and say “hi” and for signing up to work with us on upcoming service projects!

MAINSTREET DAYS DOWNTOWN HOPKINS
May 22, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We had a tent on Mainstreet where 30 people from Faith Church worked 2-hour shifts during which we enjoyed greeting and conversing with people who came to the Mainstreet Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, May 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. More than 20 people from the community signed up to join us in serving at Feed My Starving Children, Community Days of Service, the ICA Food Shelf and other causes between now and October.

Our tent featured quiz games about the organizations we serve. We even awarded prizes . . . seedling plants from the Picha Nursery for adults and something special for the children, too. We also enjoyed appearances by folks from our Youth program, some “Bye, Bye Birdie” cast members, and even Pastor Chris in uniform.
