I study Community Development at Daystar University. I decided to do this course because of my background. My community is my driving force. I see that my future is to help my community participate in utilizing resources to meet their daily needs. I hope to go back to Turkana to mobilize the people to reclaim the dry areas and transform it to produce food and be ‘food secure’. I also want reach out to the youth and encourage them to go to school and ensure they have a library and an educational resource center. We have had abject poverty. I have always felt there is something that can be done and this feeling has been very strong in me. It saddens me when everyday I see people die of hunger while there is something they can do to change their situation. I want to bring that change. That is why I took this course and I will stay at Daystar until I get this degree no matter how long it will take. Thank you and God bless.

Funds are raised through “Daystar U.S.” to provide scholarships for students in need. More than 50 students are assisted through this program. Faith Church has supported Daystar University for 22 years, sponsoring 27 different students during this time.
