Lessons From a Sheep Dog

January 3rd, 2010 by Rev. William "Buck" Day

For the sermon today, Pastor Buck read from the book, Lessons From a Sheep Dog, by Phillip Keller.

Buck says:  Listen to the story of Phillip Keller and his dog, named Lass, and consider what the lessons are from this story if Lass is a metaphor for humans and Phillip for our Lord.  Buck then read the first Chapter:  The Story:  Lass – a Beloved Border Collie.

The remaining of the book consists of seven chapters referred to as “Sheep Dog Lessons.”  You can listen to Buck reading this story on our website:  www.faithpres.org; under worship and music; under sermons.

Bookstore Journal writes: “… From his experiences, Keller draws parallel lessons to what God wants each of us to do and be as His co-worker.  Lass is a modern day parable that’s heart- warming and powerful.”

Christian Life writes:  “Keller turns his story into a beautiful example of how sinners can yield their lives to the Master, and the joy that comes in working together.”

The book is published by W PUBLISHING GROUP.  You can order the book at www.wpublishinggroup.com.
